SLC to restrict Player-Media contact

The Sri Lankan Cricket Board is aiming to take action and restrict the interaction of players with the media. A national player cannot speak to media unless he takes prior permission from SLC CEO Ajith Jayasekera.

The CEO is drafting a letter under the guidelines of SLC lawyer Harsha Amarasekera, and will dispatch the letter to all the players making them aware of the new ruling. The ruling has a chance to get included in the contracts which are signed by the players.

Lankan players are set to sign their new contracts ahead of the tour of Pakistan team in their country. The series will commence on June 1.

SLC is also going to warn Sangakkara by a letter for his recent interview to a famous newspaper. The letter will remind him of his obligations and that no such action will be tolerated afterwards. The man had also been warned last year when he delivered a lecture at the MCC's Spirit of Cricket and stated that the Lankan Cricket Board is being run at the whims of "partisan cronies".
